Many of the songs have also been a strategic mom’s aide for me in that I sing them when I need her to do something. Take “Lava las Manos” which repeatedly says wash your hands and brush your teeth. When she hears me sing it, well, when she allows me to sing, she’s much more cooperative and we turn it into a fun, musical moment!
My 4 yr. old is crazy for this CD. New phrases keep popping up out of the blue. Yesterday I overheard him saying "Camisas pantalones! Camisas pantalones!" And he loves waving his hands around "manos, manos, manos." Super effective for this age-group!
I think that Sing-a-Lingo has a great program going here! I enjoyed the music and it helped refresh my Spanish from high school. If you or someone you know is learning Spanish I highly recommend En Mi Casa!
I think this CD has fun music enjoyed by kids and their parents everywhere. It’s a creative way of learning Spanish. The catchy tunes also make it easier to remember the words and phrases. Thanks SingALingo for this great product!
"Hola, Amigos" is our new favorite song to sing in the morning while we eat breakfast. It's a perfect reminder for my children to speak in Spanish (on our Spanish days). My youngest who is only 21 months can sing the words "Como estas?" and it is adorable. This would be a great way to introduce Spanish for anyone with small children. It would naturally flow with your normal routine!
Now my youngest is 8, so she is a bit older then the targeted audience. However she thought the songs were a lot of fun & really enjoyed the CD. She loves singing in Spanish, so this added several more songs to her inventory. She even showed it to her Spanish teacher!
Gracie really enjoyed this! She has been interested in other languages for awhile now, but I've always worried about trying to teach it to her. But this was so easy. She ran around the house singing and "teaching" Matthew new words. He just laughed and tried to repeat what she said. It was adorable! It was a fun, stress-free way for her to learn more. Awesome!
My daughter and I had fun with the CD. She is still saddened about her school losing their Spanish classes because she enjoyed becoming bilingual. When we listened to the music, she was able to remember many of the words. I don’t know any Spanish, but through the songs and their fun melodies, I found myself picking up on words quickly. We plan on taking this with us in the car to listen to over and over. We did that already, so it would be over and over and over again!
Since the songs are all about daily activities (washing hands and such), she is able to catch on quickly and sing along. Then, she remembers these words and hums when she is actually doing the task. It’s great to see how fast she is catching on, and how easily she is learning!
If you are homeschooling the younger set and teaching Spanish, this is definitely a fun addition to your curriculum. If you are like our family and working on being bilingual, Sing A Lingo En Mi Casa definitely gets two thumbs up! We've been listening to it almost every day since it arrived.
